After hearing rumors of a new brewery coming to Dekalb Ave near Candler Park, we finally have something concrete.

A new brewpub is coming to Candler Park. Replacing the now-closed Mercantile at 1660 DeKalb, Candler Rail Brewery will begin serving rotating beers and Mexican food in the first quarter of 2020. Allen Porter, architect at Axis Infrastructure and co-owner of the brewpub, said it’s too early to say what will be on the menu, but there will be at least eight different beers available. The brewpub also plans to offer catering services.

There are a total of four partners involved including Allen Porter’s father Winston Porter. This will be Allen Porter’s fourth Atlanta brewery. He started the STATS Brewpub (which is unaffiliated from Candler Rail Brewery), Porter Pizza and Brewery and opened Porter BBQ and Brewery with his father a few months ago.
